Flash Flood Warning issued May 17 at 8:52AM CDT until May 17 at 10:45AM CDT by NWS Jackson MS At 852 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain, especially in central Copiah County near Crystal Springs and Hazlehurst. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Natchez, Crystal Springs, Vidalia, Hazlehurst, Ferriday, Fayette, Ridgecrest, Spokane, Georgetown, Pattison, Blue Hill, Red Lick, Mcbride, Peyton, Union Church, Pleasant Hill, Lorman, Mcnair, Allen and Barlow. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

It will then fall below flood stage Thursday morning. - Flood stage is 48.0 feet. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
