Flood Watch issued May 17 at 2:48PM CDT until May 18 at 12:00PM CDT by NWS New Orleans LA * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of southeast Louisiana, including the following parishes, Central Tangipahoa, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Eastern Ascension, Eastern Orleans, Iberville, Lower Tangipahoa, Northern Livingston, Northern St. Tammany, Northern Tangipahoa, Southeast St. Tammany, Southern Livingston, Southwestern St. Tammany, St. Charles, St. Helena, St. James, St. John The Baptist, Upper Jefferson, Upper Plaquemines, Upper St. Bernard, Washington, West Baton Rouge, Western Ascension and Western Orleans and southern Mississippi, including the following areas, Northern Hancock, Northern Harrison, Northern Jackson, Pearl River, Southern Hancock, Southern Harrison and Southern Jackson. * WHEN...Through Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Thunderstorms capable of producing heavy rainfall will be moving through the area again this afternoon. The risk for heavy rainfall and flash flooding increases overnight into Saturday morning especially in areas that received heavy rainfall and poor drainage areas. Flood Warning issued May 17 at 10:00AM CDT until May 27 at 1:00AM CDT by NWS New Orleans LA ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Louisiana...Mississippi... Pearl River Near Pearl River affecting Hancock, St. Tammany and Pearl River Counties. For the Lower Pearl River...including Bogalusa, Pearl River...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Pearl River near Pearl River. * WHEN...Until Monday, May 27. * IMPACTS...At 16.0 feet, Lower portions of streets in River Gardens Subdivision will begin to flood. Secondary roads to the river and throughout Honey Island Swamp will remain inundated. Property in the vicinity of the gage is flooded threatening about 20 homes along the left bank. The Bogue Chitto National Wildlife Refuge will be closed to hunting at the 15.5 foot stage. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:00 AM CDT Friday the stage was 15.4 feet. - Bankfull stage is 12.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 16.0 feet Sunday evening.
